Barbaros Hayreddin Episode Summary
In Barbaros Hayreddin Episode 2, Hayreddin approaches the enemy ship with a boat. One of the guards stops him and asks him why he came. Hayreddin says that his ship has sunk and immediately attacks the guard. Hayreddin talks to the Muslim slaves on the ship and says he will free them. Thereupon, the slaves attack the soldiers on the ship and neutralize them. Yahya worries about his uncle, but Salih calms him down. Aydin says they should not disturb Hayreddin and continues to wait. The Governor of Oliva asks his daughter to prepare for her departure to Granada and sends her to a waiting ship. Valeria says she does not want to travel on this ship, but cannot convince her father. Hayreddin sees that someone is approaching the ship. Valeria and the Captain prepare to board the ship.
Hayreddin throws the captain into the sea and catches Valeria. Aydin realizes that Hayreddin has captured the ship and prepares to move. Hayreddin explains to Valeria what is written on the flag on the ship and begins to look for a safe bay to shelter from the approaching storm. Charles presents two hundred thousand gold coins to the Pope. The Pope thanks the King very much for this gift, but says he hasn’t decided who to support yet. Charles says that Francois is unreliable and has worked with the Turks before. The Pope says he will soon announce who will become the Holy Roman Emperor. Meanwhile, an admiral comes and tells him that Barbarossa has hijacked a ship in Oliva. The Pope asks the admiral to catch Barbarossa alive immediately. The Admiral immediately takes three warships from the port of Granada and sets sail.
While Kemankes was practicing archery in the courtyard of Pasha’s mansion, his mother comes and warns him about what had happened in the palace. Kemankes says that he will soon find out what Sultan is trying to do and calms his mother. Hayreddin orders Valeria to be given food and tells them to be very careful until they go to Algeria. The Admiral’s ships find Hayreddin in a short time and begin to prepare for the attack. Hayreddin realizes that a war will break out soon and asks his ships to fire artillery immediately. Admiral is surprised and panicked by Hayreddin’s attack. Hayreddin blows up the enemy ships and captures the admiral. The Admiral pleads with Barbarossa to spare his life. Hayreddin takes the Spanish flag from the enemy ship and says that he will allow the admiral to return to the palace. That night, Hayreddin goes to an island to bury his dead soldiers.
The Admiral returns to Spain and tells the King what happened. The king gets very angry and kills the admiral. The Pope says that they must stop the Turks in the Mediterranean as soon as possible. Queen Isabella says they must use Andrea Doria to stop Barbarossa. Meanwhile, Doria goes to the palace of the King of France and says that she will no longer work for him. Francois warns Doria once again and says he fired him. Charles says Doria is a very greedy man and works for Francois. The Pope asks Charles to persuade Doria. After the meeting is over, Charles gets angry with his wife. Isabella says she will get the money needed to hire Doria from a Venetian banker. The Sultan’s Silahdar comes to Hayreddin’s ship that night and shows him the secret letter. Hayreddin reads Sultan’s message and immediately takes action to meet him.
The next morning, Hayreddin goes to Avlonya to talk to the Sultan. After the Sultan prays, he starts talking to Hayreddin and accepts the gift he brought. The Sultan says he has a secret plan to seize Rome and asks Hayreddin to establish a secret intelligence agency. Hayreddin immediately accepts the task given by Sultan and immediately prepares to go to Algeria. The Sultan orders Hayreddin’s family to come to Istanbul and gives him the name of a spy in Venice. Isabelle goes to Venice and asks Luna to borrow money to save Valeria. Luna believes Isabel’s lie and agrees to give her money. Hayreddin returns home and asks his family to prepare for their move to Istanbul. Valeria tries to escape from the mansion, but Yahya asks her to stay calm. Kemankes learns that Hayreddin is talking to the Sultan, but cannot predict what will happen in the future.
Hayreddin goes to Venice while his family is going to Payitaht. Osman takes the notebook with the names of the people who will help the secret organization, but the Knights of Rhodes attack him. While escaping, Osman drops the notebook in the tavern. Luna sends a message to Hayreddin after what Isabella said. Marcella gives the notebook she found in the tavern to Luna. Hayreddin asks Aydin to call Osman and goes to talk to Luna. Charles summons Doria to his palace and asks him to lead the fleet. Doria listens to the King’s offer and agrees to stop Barbarossa. Hayreddin claims that Isabella lied and that she even came from the Spanish court. Luna gets very angry and agrees to help Hayreddin. The knights torture Osman but cannot make him speak. After getting the secret notebook from Luna, Hayreddin goes to a monastery with Aydin.
Hayreddin’s family comes to Istanbul and goes to the mansion where they will stay. The knights learn the names of the spies and say that they sent them to Charles. Hayreddin kills the knights and saves Osman. Osman says that the spies have been exposed and that there is a traitor in the Ottoman palace. Valeria escapes from the mansion and jumps into the sea to kill herself. Yahya saves Valeria’s life and says he will send a letter to her father. Charles executes five spies in the town square. After sending Osman to Payitaht, Hayreddin goes to talk to Luna again and asks her to use her merchants. Luna tells Charles’ palace that it is too dangerous to send a spy and asks Hayreddin to steal the Doge’s seal. On the way to Doge’s house, someone kidnaps Hayreddin. Francois asks Hayreddin to lead the navy and says he will give him a lot of gold. Hayreddin immediately rejects this offer and goes to the port to kill Doria.
